Some Like It Hot: The Films of Billy Wilder

One weekend only at Gateway Film Center

A retrospective celebrating Billy Wilder, one of the most brilliant and versatile filmmakers of Classic Hollywood cinema whose career spanned more than 50 years and 60 films. A powerful creative influence, he holds a significant place in the history of Hollywood censorship for expanding the range of acceptable subject matter.

Called the master of the American comedy, Wilder wrote and directed in variety of genres, crafting the grand melodrama Sunset Boulevard (1950), the “funniest movie ever made” Some Like It Hot (1959), the romantic comedies Sabrina (1954) and workplace satire The Apartment (1960), the legal mystery thriller Witness for the Prosecution (1957), and setting the standard for film noir with Double Indemnity (1944).

We are thrilled to present this selection of Wilder’s most celebrated features, including five 4K Restorations.
