About the film:
After a tragic accident, six friends reunite for a caving expedition. Their adventure soon goes horribly wrong when a collapse traps them deep underground and they find themselves pursued by bloodthirsty creatures. As their friendships deteriorate, they find themselves in a desperate struggle to survive the creatures and each other.
About the filmmaker:
Neil Marshall is an English film and television director, editor, producer, and screenwriter. He followed his first feature film Dog Soldiers (2002) with The Descent (2005), both now recognized as cult films in the UK and US. He has continued to direct films and television, earning a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series for Game of Thrones in 2014.
