About the film:
A controlling father’s attempts to ensure that his two children succeed in high school backfire after his son experiences a career-ending sports injury. Their familial bonds are eventually placed under severe strain by an unexpected tragedy.

About the filmmaker:
Trey Edward Shults is an independent filmmaker whose debut feature, Krisha (2015), screened at the Cannes Film Festival. Krisha was based on a 2014 short of the same name which debuted at South by Southwest, where it received the prestigious Special Jury Award for Narrative Short Films. Shults decided to make a feature version of the film, using the crowd-funding website Kickstarter to secure the finances. Krisha premiered at the 2015 South by Southwest Film Festival, where it took home the Grand Jury Award.
Shults’ subsequent work includes the features It Comes at Night (2017) and Waves (2019), which premiered at the Telluride Film Festival.
