When a heartbroken young artist is sucked into a unicorn-run alternate dimension, they must help conquer a dark force in order to bring peace to the kingdom and themselves. Unicorn Boy is a young adult LGBTQ+ themed coming-of-age animated film that explores the complicated nature of sexual identities.
About the filmmaker:
Matty Kiel is an animation generalist, director, writer and performer based in Los Angeles. Matty has worked as a freelance animator in Los Angeles for almost 10 years on a wide swatch of projects, and has been involved in every aspect of production along the way. Matty describes his personal work as a combination of gross and cute, mixed with themes of self expression and mental health.
