About the filmmaker:
Katsuhiro Otomo is a Japanese manga artist, screenwriter, animator, and film director. He is best known for creating Akira in the 1980’s. His live-action adaptation of the graphic novel Mushishi (2006) premiered at the Venice Film Festival and later screened at Sundance and the Toronto International Film Festival.
