Introducing Pioneers of African American Cinema
January, February and March 2023
Presented for the first time in Ohio, this unique partnership will showcase the feature-length and short film restorations from Kino Lorber’s celebrated collection, a leading art house film distribution company, alongside film experts, community activists and a curated art installation. Screening once a month, the series lineup includes the works of Directors Oscar Micheaux, Frank Perugini, and more.

Celebrating the Pioneers of African American Cinema
Celebrate the Pioneers of African American Cinema at the opening night reception on January 5. Be amongst the first to tour the locally curated, Pioneers exhibition in The Gallery at Gateway Film Center honoring Donna and Larry James. Join us for a screening of Oscar Micheaux’s Within Our Gates (1920) presented with Columbus Jazz Orchestra live accompaniment.
