About the film:

NEXT Innovator Award, Sundance Film Festival. A bold, unsettling blend of true-crime inquiry and meta-cinematic experimentation, Zodiac Killer Project (2025) follows a small documentary team who set out to investigate one of America’s most mythologized unsolved cases—only to find themselves entangled in a story far stranger and more personal than they ever imagined. What begins as a straightforward attempt to reexamine the Zodiac evidence quickly warps into a tense psychological spiral when anonymous messages, coded threats, and eerie coincidences start infiltrating the production itself.

Premiering to intense buzz at the Sundance Film Festival, the film pushes beyond the conventions of the true-crime genre, questioning the ethics and obsessions that drive our fascination with violent mystery. Mixing archival material, vérité filmmaking, and an increasingly unreliable point of view, Zodiac Killer Project (2025) blurs the line between investigation and invitation—asking whether some stories resist illumination because we are not meant to look too closely. Riveting, provocative, and deeply atmospheric, it’s a standout Sundance discovery that lingers long after the final frame.

“A documentary masterpiece… A sharp, hilarious, self-aware, and acutely insightful work.”

—Nick Schager, The Daily Beast
