About the filmmaker:
Stephen Belber is an American playwright, screenwriter and film director whose work navigates how the lingering reverberations of one’s past inspire, torment, and are rarely more than a breath away from the present. His plays have been produced on Broadway and in over 50 countries. He directed the feature film adaptation of his Broadway play Match (2014), and wrote and directed the film Management (2008). He also wrote the HBO film O.G. (2018). He was an actor and associate writer on Moisés Kaufman’s play The Laramie Project, (which later became an HBO film, for which Belber received an Emmy nomination), as well as a co-writer of The Laramie Project, Ten Years Later. Belber wrote and directed the feature film What We Do Next (2023) adapted from his own play.
