About the filmmaker:
Steven Caple Jr. is an American film director, producer, and screenwriter. Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, Caple’s roots strongly influenced his debut feature film The Land (2016), which premiered at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival. He then stepped in to direct Creed II (2018) followed by Transformers: Rise of the Beasts (2023). Caple has also directed several short films, including A Different Tree (2013), which won HBO’s Short Film Competition in 2013 and earned a jury award at the 2014 TIFF Kids International Film Festival. When he was younger, Caple used to volunteer at the Cleveland International Film Festival.
