About the film:
Returning to the Hitchcocktober line-up this year is Hitchcock’s thrilling final film with Grace Kelly, To Catch a Thief (1955). An ex-thief is accused of enacting a new crime spree, so to clear his name he sets off to catch the new thief, who’s imitating his signature style.
From a screenplay by John Michael Hayes based on the 1952 novel of the same name by David Dodge. Robert Burks won the Academy Award for Best Cinematography, while Edith Head earned a nomination for Best Costume Design for looks like Grace Kelly’s iconic gold ball gown. Hal Pereira, Joseph McMillan Johnson, Samuel M. Comer and Arthur Krams received a nomination for Best Art Direction.
