Adam MacDonald is a Canadian filmmaker, actor, and writer best known for his tense, character-driven thrillers set against the backdrop of the natural world. He gained international attention with his survival horror feature Backcountry, inspired by a true story and praised for its visceral realism and psychological intensity. He followed with Pyewacket, a chilling occult thriller that premiered at film festivals worldwide and further established his reputation for crafting atmospheric, emotionally grounded horror.
