About the film:

This collaborative first feature premiered at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival, where it won a Special Jury Award for its brilliantly comedic ensemble cast.

Tony Award winner Ben Platt and Molly Gordon star in the original comedy Theater Camp (2023) as Amos and Rebecca-Diane – lifelong best friends and drama instructors at a rundown camp in upstate New York. When clueless tech-bro Troy (Jimmy Tatro) arrives to run the property (into the ground), Amos, Rebecca-Diane and production manager Glenn (Noah Galvin) band together with the staff and students, staging a masterpiece to keep their beloved summer camp afloat.

The screenplay was a collaboration by Gordon, Lieberman, Galvin, and Platt based on their own 2020 short film of the same name. The film received three nominations at the 2024 Independent Spirit Awards including Best First Screenplay, Best Supporting Performance (Noah Galvin), and Best Editing (Jon Philpot).
