About the filmmaker:
Influential filmmaker Todd Haynes has one of the most distinctive voices in American cinema. With his longtime producer Christine Vachon, he has crafted provocative stories of artists and performers, including controversial short film Superstar: The Karen Carpenter Story, 70s glam rock tribute Velvet Goldmine inspired by Iggy Pop and David Bowie, and I’m Not There with six different actors playing personas inspired by Bob Dylan. His other projects include Poison, Safe, Far From Heaven, the HBO mini-series Mildred Pierce, Carol, Wonderstruck and Dark Waters.
