About the film:

World Premiere – Tribeca Film Festival. Demis Hassabis has always been thinking about thinking. It started during his childhood career as a chess champion, continued to Bullfrog Games where he helped develop one of the most successful games in history at just 17 years old, and then followed him through his PhD in cognitive neuroscience at University College London. All this led him to co-founding DeepMind, an artificial general intelligence company with one simple mission: to solve intelligence. Like they’re running out of time, The Thinking Game chronicles DeepMind’s sprint toward creating the smartest machine in the world in the AI space race.

About the filmmaker:

Ten-time Emmy-winning filmmaker Greg Kohs who has applied his unique “captured not contrived” storytelling style to all his branded content, commercial, and feature film work. A member of the DGA, Greg is a proud native of the Motor City and a graduate of Notre Dame. He developed his signature aesthetic at NFL Films right out of college.

Selected as an elite “Goose Person” by the luxury brand Canada Goose, Greg has a keen interest in projects with soul, particularly those that highlight individuals who relentlessly pursue their passions. He crafts these stories using visually striking and honest imagery.

Kohs’ real-as-dirt storytelling has been central to all his award-winning documentaries, including “Song Sung Blue” (2008), “The Great Alone” (2015), “AlphaGo” (2017), and “COIN” (2022). Recently, Universal Pictures optioned the scripted adaptation rights to Kohs’ “Song Sung Blue,” with the project slated to begin filming in the fall of 2024.
