Awarded Best Director at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival and shortlisted for Best International Feature at the 96th Academy Awards.

Set in France in 1889, the film follows the life of Dodin Bouffant as a chef living with his personal cook and lover Eugénie. They share a long history of gastronomy and love but Eugénie refuses to marry Dodin, so the food lover decides to do something he has never done before: cook for her.

About the filmmaker:

Trần Anh Hùng is a Vietnamese-born French writer and filmmaker. Hùng’s debut was the Oscar-nominated Best Foreign Film The Scent of Green Papaya (1993) which also won two top prizes at the Cannes Film Festival. In addition, his follow-up, Cyclo (1995), (1995) won the 1995 Venice Film Festival Golden Lion.
