About the film:
World Premiere, 2023 Venice Film Festival. A pick-up driver sets off on the long journey from Kathmandu airport to a remote mountain village with a delivery arriving from abroad. At the same time, a solitary figure with a small red suitcase makes his way along the country road towards the same village. Along the seemingly endless roads, mysterious events take place that may be directly related to the delivery.
In his remarkable feature film debut, anthropologist and filmmaker Fidel Devkota reflects the mood in Nepal today, which is marked by political and economic uncertainty. An atmospheric road movie through the breathtaking landscape of Nepal.
“Political protest, poetically-toned parable and an eerie streak of the supernatural make for an undeniably individual package.”
—Jonathan Romney, Screen Daily
