About the filmmakers:
Craig Roberts is a Welsh writer, director, and actor with acclaimed roles in projects like The Story of Tracy Beaker, Amazon Studios’ Red Oaks with Ben Stiller, and Submarine (2010), for which he won ALFS’ Young British Performer of the Year award. Roberts wrote and starred in his directorial debut, the coming-of-age film Just Jim (2015), which premiered at the SXSW Film Festival.
Adapted by Simon Farnaby from the non-fiction book he co-wrote with Scott Murray, The Phantom of the Open was nominated for Best International Feature at the 2022 Santa Barbara International Film Festival.
