About the filmmaker:
Michael Chaves is an American film director, screenwriter, visual effects artist, editor, and executive producer best known for his work in “The Conjuring” universe. His feature directorial debut The Curse of La Llorona (2019), the sixth film in the franchise, had its World Premiere at the South by Southwest Film Festival. He also directed the eighth installment, The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It (2021). Among other projects, Chaves created and directed the 2015 miniseries Chase Champion, directed the music video for Billie Eilish’s “Bury a Friend,” and crafted several short films, including The Maiden (2016), which won Best Super Short Film at the 2016 Shriekfest.
