About the filmmaker:
An important voice out of Southeast Asia, Mattie Do is Laos’ first and only female film director. Born to refugees living in Los Angeles, Do relocated to Laos in 2010 and began crafting fascinating stories blending reality and the world of the deceased, including her 2012 debut feature Chanthaly, Laos’ first horror film. Her follow-up, the acclaimed Dearest Sister, was selected as the Laotian entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 90th Academy Awards.
Hauntingly dramatic, The Long Walk is her third feature.
