When a young American woman is sent to Rome to begin a life of service to the church, she encounters a darkness that causes her to question her own faith and uncovers a terrifying conspiracy that hopes to bring about the birth of evil incarnate.
A prequel to the iconic 1976 film Omen directed by Richard Donner and written by David Seltzer.
About the filmmaker:
Arkasha Stevenson is a Los Angeles based writer and director making her feature directorial debut with The First Omen (2024). She earned her B.S. in Journalism from the University of North Carolina and graduated from the prestigious directing program at the American Film Institute, where she won the 2015 Iris Prize for her thesis film Vessels (2015) about black market breast enhancement procedures within the transgender community. Prior to attending film school Stevenson worked as a photojournalist and videographer at the Los Angeles Times, an experience that greatly informs her narrative filmmaking. Stevenson’s work in television includes Pineapple, a concept the she wrote and directed for Project Greenlight Digital Studios, which had its World Premiere at the Sundance Film Festival. She also directed all six episodes of the genre anthology series Channel Zero: Butcher’s Block (2018).
