Elderly Manuel’s world falls apart when Rosa, his wife of decades, suddenly commits suicide. The shock and grief consume him, triggering the sudden onset of dementia. Mario, his son, decides to bring him to live with his family, despite the fierce opposition of his pregnant wife. A series of paranormal events cause the family’s new living situation to rapidly deteriorate, eventually evolving into a matter of life and death—on the hottest night of the century.

About the filmmakers:

Raúl Cerezo and Fernando González Gómez are Spanish directors and screenwriters. They are both leading figures in the Spanish short film industry, with each directing over 35 short films before venturing into feature-length projects. The pair worked together previously to direct The Passenger (2022), which premiered at the Sitges Film Festival. Their feature film The Elderly (2023) celebrated its world premiere at the 2022 Fantasia Film Festival.
