Steven Soderbergh is an American filmmaker, screenwriter, and producer known for his versatility and innovative approach to filmmaking. He gained international recognition with Sex, Lies, and Videotape (1989), which won the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival and helped launch the American independent film movement of the 1990s.
