About the filmmaker:
Writer and director James Gunn is also an actor, novelist, musician, and lifelong genre fan. He began his filmmaking career at Troma Studios where he wrote and produced Tromeo and Juliet (1996) with Lloyd Kaufman. He made his directorial debut with Slither (2006), and his other features include Super (2010) and Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy.
