Spider-Mondays at Gateway Film Center

As part of Columbia Pictures 100th Anniversary, we are bringing all of the live action Spider-Man movies back to the Film Center on Mondays April 15 to June 3, 2024.

About the film:

The second installment in Watt’s Spider-Man series, Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019) follows the events of Avengers: Endgame (2019).

“It’s an out-and-out triumph, an adrenaline blast of pure action and emotion that lives up to its predecessors and ably forwards the MCU story”

—Tasha Robinson, The Verge

Peter Parker’s relaxing European vacation takes an unexpected turn when Nick Fury shows up in his hotel room to recruit him for a mission. The world is in danger as four massive elemental creatures — each representing Earth, air, water and fire — emerge from a hole torn in the universe. Parker soon finds himself donning the Spider-Man suit to help Fury and fellow superhero Mysterio stop the evil entities from wreaking havoc across the continent.

About the filmmaker:

Jon Watts is an American film director, producer and screenwriter. He honed his craft on commercials and music videos for Death Cab for Cutie, Fatboy Slim, TV On The Radio, and Swedish House Mafia. Among his other projects, he directed episodes of the Onion News Network and the feature films Clown (2014) and Cop Car (2015), which premiered at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival, before Marvel tagged him to helm Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017). With his Spider-Man writing partners Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, Watts returned to direct Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019) and Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021), which became the highest grossing Spider-Man film to date.
