About the film:
World Premiere at the 2021 Venice International Film Festival. The marriage of Princess Diana and Prince Charles has long since grown cold. Though rumors of affairs and a divorce abound, peace is ordained for the Christmas festivities at the Queen’s Sandringham Estate. There’s eating and drinking, shooting and hunting. Diana knows the game. But this year, things will be a whole lot different.
An imagining of what might have happened during those few fateful days, Pablo Larraín’s Spencer earned Kristen Stewart a nomination for Best Actress at the 94th Academy Awards.
“a film with the daring, and the imagination, to portray Diana not as a “princess,” or as a rebel princess either, but as the idiosyncratic flesh-and-blood woman she was”
—Owen Gleiberman for Variety
