About the filmmaker:
Jonathan Jakubowicz is a Venezuelan writer, director, producer, and composer known for his bold and socially engaged films. His breakout features include Secuestro Express (2004), which became a major box-office success in Venezuela and gained international attention, and Hands of Stone (2016), a biopic about boxer Roberto Durán starring Édgar Ramírez and Robert De Niro. His 2020 film Resistance—which tells the true story of Boy and Girl Scouts who saved thousands of orphans during the Holocaust—won the German Film Peace Prize.
