About the film:
Legendary facialist-to-the-stars Hope Goldman is preparing to enter the next phase of her career by launching her own retail line of skincare products. However, she begins to sense that someone is trying to sabotage her business and destroy her life after she becomes entangled in a series of menacing situations. Consumed with paranoia, Hope goes on an investigation across Hollywood to find out who is responsible and save her business—by any means necessary.
About the filmmaker:
Austin Peters is a writer, director and artist living and working in Los Angeles, California. Peters takes a very stylistic approach to making cutting edge and moving films and got his start directing music videos for various breakout artists such as Haim, Bastille and Major Lazer. He has a distinct docu-drama style of filmmaking that adds a stylistic layer to his films, which can be seen in his work with artists like Orville Peck, Diplo, Chvrches and Rae Sremmurd, and in work for brands like Vogue, i-D, Wrangler, American Express, Rag & Bone, and Target.
His feature documentary Give Me Future (2017) about the free Major Lazer concert in Havana, Cuba that drew half a million fans premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and was one of the first films acquired by Apple as they moved into the entertainment space. Most recently he directed the entire visual album for Orville Peck’s Bronco album and “Use Me (Brutal Hearts)” music video for Diplo feat. Dove Cameron and Sturgill Simpson featuring a performance by Sean Penn.
Skincare (2024) is his debut narrative feature.
