She was mentored by Desiree Akhavan on the BFI Flare scheme and was selected for Berlinale Talents and iFeatures.
She made her feature film debut with Blue Jean (2022), a powerful drama set in 1980s Britain that follows a closeted lesbian PE teacher navigating the personal and professional consequences of Section 28. The film premiered at the 2022 Venice Film Festival where it won the Giornate Degli Autori People’s Choice award. It was nominated for the BAFTA Film Award for Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director or Producer and won four British Independent Film Awards.
