About the film:
Set between the events of Saw I and Saw II, a sick and desperate John Kramer travels to Mexico for a risky and experimental medical procedure in hopes of a miracle cure for his cancer—only to discover that he has fallen victim to a scam. Armed with a newfound purpose, the infamous serial killer returns to his work, turning the tables on the con artists in his signature visceral way through devious, deranged, and ingenious traps.
About the filmmaker:
Kevin Greutert is an American filmmaker best known for his work on the Saw franchise. Greutert has been with the franchise since its beginning, having edited the first five installments as well as Jigsaw (2017). He went on to make his directorial debut with Saw VI (2009), and returned to the series to direct Saw 3D: The Final Chapter (2010) and the upcoming Saw X (2023). He has directed a handful of other genre projects including Jessabelle (2014), Visions (2015), and Jackals (2018). Greutart also worked as an editor on Bryan Bertino’s classic home invasion film The Strangers (2008).
