About the filmmaker:
Zachary Wigon is an American film critic, writer, and director. He adapted his own award-winning short film Someone Else’s Heart (2012) into his feature debut The Heart Machine (2014), which had its world premiere in the Narrative Feature Competition at the 2014 SXSW Film Festival. Wigon graduated from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts film school, where he founded and served as Editor in Chief on the film school’s first film studies publication, the Tisch Film Review. As a film critic, he has contributed to Slant Magazine, Filmmaker, and The Village Voice.
The romantic thriller Sanctuary (2023) is Wigon’s second feature film, with screenplay from Micah Bloomberg.
