Dog lives in Manhattan and he’s tired of being alone. One day he decides to build himself a robot, a companion. Their friendship blossoms, until they become inseparable, to the rhythm of 80’s NYC. One summer night, Dog, with great sadness, is forced to abandon Robot at the beach. Will they ever meet again?
Based on the popular graphic novel by the North American writer Sara Varon, Robot Dreams (2024) is the first animation film from writer and director Pablo Berger.
About the filmmaker:
Pablo Berger is a film writer and director born in Bilbao, Spain. His feature films include Torremolinos 73 (2003), Abracadabra (2017), and his silent Snow White film Blancanieves (2012), which, among other accolades, was selected as Spain’s official entry at the 85th Academy Awards and received 18 nominations at the 27th Goya Awards, ultimately winning 10 including Best Film. His first animation film, Robot Dreams (2024) premiered at Cannes was nominated for Best International Feature at the 96th Academy Awards.
