Recently deployed, Markus is forced to return home to care for his teenage daughter after his wife is killed in a tragic train accident. But when a survivor of the wrecked train surfaces claiming foul play, Markus begins to suspect his wife was murdered and embarks on a mission to find those responsible.
About the filmmaker:
Anders Thomas Jensen is a self-taught filmmaker known for his unique cinematic universe, dark humor, and collection of complex characters. He was nominated for Academy Awards for his first two short films, Ernst & The Light and Wolfgang, and won in 1999 for Election Night. He has directed the successful movies Men & Chicken, Adam’s Apples, The Green Butchers, and the iconic Flickering Lights.
As a screenwriter, Jensen has collaborated with a considerable number of critically acclaimed Dannish directors in a wide range of genres, including Susanne Bier’s Academy Award-winner In A Better World. He also wrote screenplays for After the Wedding, Love Is All You Need, Daniel, The Sun King, Murk, The Duchess and All For Two. In 2003, he was awarded an honorary Bodil award for his contribution to Danish cinema.
