About the filmmaker:
Adam Wingard is an American filmmaker well known for his work in horror. His low-budget feature You’re Next (2011) had its world premiere in the Midnight Madness section of the 2011 Toronto International Film Festival, and his follow-up The Guest (2014) premiered at Sundance Film Festival and was nominated for Best Editing at the Film Independent Spirit Awards. In 2016, Wingard directed Blair Witch, a reboot of The Blair Witch Project (1996). After the success of Blair Witch (2016), he had the opportunity to direct Legendary Pictures/Warner Bros.’s big budget Godzilla vs. Kong (2021) and its sequel Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire (2024). Wingard has also contributed to several popular horror anthologies, including the segment “Tape 56” in V/H/S (2012), “Q is for Quack” in The ABCs of Death (2012), and “Phase I Clinical Trials” in V/H/S/2 (2013).
Wingard considers his most recent feature Onslaught (2026) the third in a loose thematic trilogy in the same cinematic universe as You’re Next and The Guest.
