Sandra is a widowed young mother raising her daughter on her own, while also caring for her sick father. She’s dealing with the loss of the relationship she once had with her father, while she and her mother and sister fight to get him the care he requires. At the same time, Sandra reconnects with Clément, a friend she hasn’t seen in a while and, although he’s married, their friendship soon blossoms into a passionate affair.

About the filmmaker:
Mia Hansen-Løve is a French film director, screenwriter, and former actress. She is known for crafting personal stories centered on the emotional journeys of her characters. She studied at the Conservatoire D’art Dramatique in Paris and directed several short films before winning prizes at Cannes for her first two features, All is Forgiven (2007) and Father of My Children (2009). Her other acclaimed features include Goodbye First Love (2011), Eden (2014), Maya (2018) and Things to Come (2016), which earned her Best Director at the 2016 Berlin International Film Festival. She made her English-language debut with Bergman Island (2021), a film about writing and creating. Her most recent feature One Fine Morning (2022) premiered at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival where it won the Europa Cinemas Label Award for Best European Film.
