Join the Age-Friendly Innovation Center for a screening of the documentary, No Place to Grow Old (2024), followed by a panel discussion with local leaders on how Central Ohio is addressing older adult homelessness.

 

No Place to Grow Old (2024) is an intimate portrait of the rising crisis of older adult homelessness through deeply personal stories of the lives of three older adults—a union carpenter, a poet, and a computer engineer—all struggling to find a safe and stable housing to call home.  Film Run Time: 48 min.

About the filmmaker: 

Davey Schaupp is a director and producer based in Portland, Oregon. Growing up between East Africa and the Southern US, he developed a deep curiosity for the world and the stories we share. He studied at Clemson University, further cultivating his unique perspective on human resilience, sustainable development, and cultural preservation. His previous short documentary, Beyond Lesser Things, was filmed in Southern Kordofan, Sudan, and went on to be screened at national film festivals, winning several awards. Today, he focuses on both commercial and documentary filmmaking, with an emphasis on impact storytelling that blends empathy with beautiful, thoughtful visuals.
