“Both poignant and deeply funny in the way only the best films can be. This animated feature film is a must watch”

—Yvonne Grzenkowicz, Animation for Adults

Told from a woman’s point of view, the film blends historical, biological, societal, and emotional arcs with a lively sense of humor and musical numbers. This animated film for adults tackles the issues of love, gender norms, domestic violence, fantasies and toxic relationships to propel a woman’s journey toward independence and liberation.

About the filmmaker:

Signe Baumane is a Latvian-born, Brooklyn-based independent filmmaker, artist, writer, and animator. Before she shifted towards animated features with Rocks in My Pockets (2014) and My Love Affair with Marriage (2023), Baumane created a sizable body of short animated work that touched upon sex, gender, relationships, and mental health with a fierce sense of humor and refreshing bluntness. Collectively, her work has been accepted into over 300 film festivals around the world and received a variety of accolades.
