David Lowery is an American filmmaker known for his lyrical, visually poetic storytelling that blends intimate character studies with elements of fantasy. He gained recognition with Ain’t Them Bodies Saints (2013) and went on to direct acclaimed films including A Ghost Story (2017) and The Green Knight (2021). Lowery has also worked within the studio system, directing Disney’s Pete’s Dragon (2016).
