“The opening shots of Marnie are Hitchcock’s ideal of visual storytelling at its purest, and the rest of the film is an underrated gem”
– Emily Cleaver for The Guardian
About the film:
First of seven Hitchcock films to be scored by Bernard Herrmann, and the last of twelve Hitchcock films to feature Robert Burks as cinematographer.
Hitchcock once described Marnie as a “Sex Mystery … that is if one used such words”.
Marnie is a thief and a liar – one with a tormented psyche. After fleeing from her latest crime, Marnie becomes acquainted with Mark Rutland and the two begin a torrid affair – but will Marnie cheat again?
