About the filmmaker:
Scott Slone is an award-winning American filmmaker born in Missoula, Montana and based in Los Angeles. In 2002, he wrote and directed his first short film, Old Man Music (2005), which went on to win multiple awards in the festival circuit. Since then, he has written and directed several short films as well as the documentary 2001: An EDM Odyssey (2018). His innovative feature film Malibu Horror Story (2023) won over 50 awards at film festivals. Slone started working on the project during the found-footage wave in the late 2000s, and spent over 15 years evolving the story through different perspectives, timelines, and filming on over 30 different cameras.
