About the filmmaker:
Legendary VFX artist Phil Tippett revolutionized creature design, stop-motion, and CG-character animation, winning Academy Awards for his work on Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi (1983) and Jurassic Park (1993). He led the animation team at Industrial Light and Magic before founding his own Tippett Studio. Over his decades-long career, he has contributed VFX to many projects, including Piranha (1978), RoboCop (1988), Dragonheart (1997), and Starship Troopers (1998).
Thirty years in the making, Tippett’s personal masterwork Mad God (2022) was funded through a wildly successful crowdfunding campaign and screened at film festivals all over the world.
