Morgan Neville is an American documentary filmmaker known for his compelling portraits of influential artists and cultural figures. He won the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature for 20 Feet from Stardom (2013), which explores the lives of backup singers behind some of popular music’s greatest stars. Neville has since directed a wide range of acclaimed documentaries, including Won’t You Be My Neighbor? (2018), about television icon Fred Rogers, Roadrunner: A Film About Anthony Bourdain (2021), and Piece by Piece (2024), an innovative animated documentary about musician Pharrell Williams.
