About the film:
The origin story of Buzz Lightyear, the hero who inspired the toy. As Buzz tries to fix the mistake that left him and his crew marooned on a hostile planet, he does his first test flight for Star Command. It doesn’t go as expected, as he ends up time traveling 62 years into the future instead and must now find a way to return home with the help of a group of ambitious recruits and his robot companion, Sox, who together embark on an intergalactic adventure. However, when the evil Emperor Zurg threatens the universe’s safety along the way, Buzz may be its only hope to save it.

About the filmmaker:
Angus MacLane is an American film director, animator, screenwriter, and voice actor currently working at Pixar. He directed short films BURN-E (2008), Toy Story Toons: Small Fry (2011), and the television special Toy Story of Terror! and co-directed the film Finding Dory (2016). He is a LEGO enthusiast and created the CubeDudes building format and designed a LEGO WALL-E that has become an official set from the LEGO Group. He will make his solo feature film directorial debut with Lightyear (2022).
