About the filmmaker:
Director, screenwriter and author Paolo Sorrentino was born in Naples. A regular at festivals around the world, eight of his films have been presented in Competition at the Cannes Film Festival, including The Great Beauty, which won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film in 2014. His other critically acclaimed films include The Consequences of Love, Il Divo, This Must Be the Place and Youth. He has published a novel, two collections of short stories, and helmed the 2016 HBO series The Young Pope.
