About the filmmaker:
Taika Waititi is a filmmaker, actor and comedian who has been involved in some of the most innovative and successful original productions seen in New Zealand. He has received an Academy Award, a BAFTA Award, a Grammy Award, a Film Independent Spirit Award, two nominations at the Primetime Emmy Awards, and prizes at major film festivals like Sundance, Toronto and Berlin. His acclaimed feature films include his directorial debut Eagle vs Shark (2007), Boy (2010), What We Do in the Shadows (2014), and Hunt for the Wilderpeople (2016). He went on to direct Marvel’s Thor: Ragnarok (2017) and Thor: Love and Thunder (2022), as well as the acclaimed satire Jojo Rabbit (2019), for which he won the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay.
