About the film:
Several generations in the future following Caesar’s reign, apes are now the dominant species and live harmoniously while humans have been reduced to living in the shadows. As a new tyrannical ape leader builds his empire, one young ape undertakes a harrowing journey that will cause him to question all that he has known about the past and to make choices that will define a future for apes and humans alike.
About the filmmaker:
Wes Ball is an American film director, visual effects artist, and producer. He graduated from Florida State University with a BFA from the College of Motion Picture Arts in 2002. Ball made his directorial debut with the 2014 dystopian sci-fi action thriller The Maze Runner, based on James Dashner’s series of novels of the same name. He is best known for directing this film and its sequels, Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials (2015) and Maze Runner: The Death Cure (2018). In November 2023, it was announced that Ball would direct a live-action film based on The Legend of Zelda for Nintendo and Sony Pictures.
