In 1976, Brian de Palma directed Carrie, the first novel and adaptation of Stephen King’s work. Since then, more than 50 directors have adapted the master of horror’s books, in more than 80 films and series, making him now the most adapted author still alive in the world.

King on Screen (2023) is an inside-look into the mind of the Master of Horror and his influence on storytelling and Hollywood, featuring many of the directors who’ve reimagined his work.

About the filmmaker:

Daphné Baiwir is a Belgian director who began in the film industry as a model and actress with roles in over 20 films. She direct­ed several short films, including her debut film Danse Funèbre (2013) and C’est Toi le Chat! (2017) which was select­ed in com­pe­ti­tion at the Upp­sala Film Fes­ti­val in Swe­den. As a documentary filmmaker, she spent a month in prison to film Beyond Bars (2015), and directed Deauville and the American Dream (2020). Her film The Rebellious Olivia de Havilland (2001) was an Official Selection at the Cannes Film Festival.
