About the filmmakers:
Alix Austen is a British/Swiss director and creative producer with a passion for action fueled films driven by practical effects and lethal sound design. Her work has screened at a variety of festivals including Chicago International Film Festival, Raindance, and Brussels International Fantastic Festival. Her leech creature short Sucker (2022) was released on the streaming services Shudder and Alter. She runs a film production company, Switchblade Cinema, alongside her Kill Your Lover (2024) co-director and husband Keir Siewert.
Keir Siewert is a Scottish/American independent filmmaker and photographer based out of London. Keir started out working in the Scottish music scene and has shot over 100 music videos, including videos for bands such as FM, Gun and Fallen State. He is largely known for his work in genre films and production company Switchblade Cinema, which he runs with his wife and frequent filmmaking partner, Alix Austen. Siewert wrote and directed the award-winning shorts Retch (2018) and Do Not Resuscitate (2022).
Together, Austen and Siewert co-directed the London segment of the pandemic horror anthology Isolation (2015) (along with directors Larry Fessenden, Dennie Gordon and Bobby Roe) as well as their debut feature Kill Your Lover (2024).
