Milton lives a quiet life of routine in a small western Pennsylvania town, but finds his day upended when a UFO and its extra-terrestrial passenger crash land in his backyard. Before long, Milton develops a close relationship with the extra-terrestrial he calls “Jules.” Things become complicated when two neighbors discover Jules and the government quickly closes in. What follows is a funny, wildly inventive ride as the three neighbors find meaning and connection later in life – thanks to this unlikely stranger.
About the filmmaker:
Marc Turtletaub is an American film producer and director. Before he was a filmmaker, Turtletaub was a financial executive and the former CEO of The Money Store. He founded the Los Angeles-based Big Beach Films in 2004 and directed three feature films: an adaption of the 2007 satirical novel Gods Behaving Badly (2013), Edinburgh Film Festival selection Puzzle (2018), and the award-winning Jules (2023). Turtletaub has also produced numerous acclaimed films, including The Farewell (2019), A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood (2019), Loving (2016), Safety Not Guaranteed (2012), Jack Goes Boating (2010), and Little Miss Sunshine (2006).
