About the film:

World Premiere at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival in competition for the Caméra d’Or for best first feature.

After a high-ranking North Korean official requests asylum, two agents of the Korean National Intelligence Service (KNIS) are tasked with uncovering a North Korean spy within the agency. During a tense investigation, they come face to face with an unbearable truth and must deal with an unthinkable plot to assassinate the South Korean president.

About the filmmaker:

Lee Jung Jae is a South Korean actor and filmmaker with a 30-year career. He gained international acclaim for his role in Netflix’s survival drama Squid Game, which earned him numerous accolades, including a Primetime Emmy Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award, in addition to nominations for a Golden Globe Award and a Gotham Award. His other critically acclaimed roles include the 1995 series Sandglass and feature films Il Mare (2000) and Over the Rainbow (2002), the Dogme 95 film Interview (2000), the melodrama Last Present (2001), well-known comedies such as Oh! Brothers (2003), action films The Last Witness (2001) and Typhoon (2005), psychological thriller The Housemaid (2010), heist film The Thieves (2012), crime thriller New World (2013), and period pieces The Face Reader (2013) and Assassination (2015).

The stylish espionage action film Hunt (2022) is his feature directorial debut.
