Frida is a vibrant girl growing up in Coyoacán Mexico, but when sickness casts a cloud over her spirit, she finds solace in her imagination. Hola Frida recreates the childhood of artist Frida Kahlo and highlights the power of imagination.
About the filmmaker:
Karine Vézina is an actress, animation artist, and comic book author in Québec. André Kadi is a fellow comic book author and a founder of animation studios, including Du Coup Animation and Du Coup Production. Vézina and Kadi collaborated on the series “L’Agent Jean!” (2018).
André Kadi is a filmmaker and founder of a branch of the studio in Bordeaux, he opened a 2D animation studio there in 2012 and directed the series “MaXi” (2017) and “L’Agent Jean!” (2018) before co-founding Du Coup Animation in 2018 and Du Coup Production.
